What Is a UTI?

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) can be bladder infections in the lower tract or kidney infections in the upper tract. The most common cause is E. coli, but other bacteria and fungi may also be responsible. They’re common from sexual intercourse, diabetes, obesity, or family history.

How Are UTIs Treated?

Uncomplicated cases are treated with short-term antibiotics. If the infection is resistant to antibiotics or the case is more complicated, intravenous antibiotics may be prescribed. Typically, relief is noticeable within two to three days of starting treatment.

What Is an STD?

A sexually transmitted disease (STD) is an infection spread through sexual activity, including intercourse, oral sex, and anal sex. There is a high risk of passing these along since they don’t show symptoms right away. Common cases include Chlamydia, Herpes, Hepatitis B, HIV, and AIDS.

STD Treatments

Preventing STDs can be done through open communication with your partner about past STDs, getting tested, and being aware of symptoms. If you have an STD, treatment might include antibiotics and antiviral medications. Any that require long-term management might include lifestyle changes.

I had a great overall experience. It was my first time there, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was able to make a convenient appointment and spent little time waiting. The nurse practitioner was friendly and throughout and I was in and out quickly. The office is very clean and inviting and I would definitely return.

What an incredible doctor, he personally followed up with a phone call and explain the prescriptions completely so we thoroughly understood them and also reminded us about using good RX to save on the cost of the prescriptions. This is your go to Dr in Frisco, Texas.
